My experiences in the middle of the year!

So of course, I had my Internet back because I already fixed my PC and bought a faster RAM speed. Which, in the other side of the plate, I am ~~fucking~~ tired right now.

I really am into taking photographs. I don’t know why. I remember one Filipino film where Rico Yan is a budding photographer and that his dad is forcing him to finish medicine (or law school, I forgot), I had myself cussing over him — i.e. Rico Yan — saying “photography is just a waste of time”. And now look at me, I am wasting almost 3 years and counting taking photos of places, people, and memories of my life.

We all have our own point of perspective when it comes to different things including this. That photography for me is like this and for you is like that. It was just until last year that I fully realized, “depende na sa trip mo” principle really works. Let me do my own thing and let yourself do your own thing. Photography or art per se is completely subjective. I close my mouth for that.

Yes, I wasted a lot of efforts for the past few years taking photos, wasting rolls of films, encountering almost endless frowning face with dropped shoulders every time I developed my films that came out not too good for my own point of view.

Endless as it is, but I never gave up. Countless cameras have come and gone from my hands and now I am owning just one SLR, a plastic camera, and a Lomo LCA.

Basically, for the last two weeks, me and some friends took some portraits of a friend’s friends because we want to extend our circle of friends.

On “What are the 5 songs that you can’t stop listening to right now” section, I will answer that question Mr. Anon asked me last time around:

For this month, I haven’t bought a new book (yet) and just that last time, I was reminded of my Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman copy (~~which got lost~~) so I told Nica to buy The Elephant Vanishes but to my surprise, she bought the latter. Well guess what? I’m going to borrow your copy because I need to read that 2-3 short stories that I really miss.

Career development is slowly progressing (in which it took a month before we got deployed in the hospital) and before that wise phrase of “prior to your deployment to the unit…” we had this, let’s call it Just For Fun Basic Life Support Training. That training is one week, of course. The whole week I was drunk every night because of a friend’s birthday, of heartaches and morose-y nights, and of board games and whiskeys. But still, I cannot believe I got a perfect 100% score on my return demo (for a quick run through, our return demo is how to revive a person you found unconscious in the streets).

On another note, I had fun last night. It was decided that our team should have an acquaintance party (now I know why it’s called acquaintance because new people meeting new people therefore, they will acquaint themselves; silly, really). After acquaintance, I met Dan Iver outside the hotel and we’ve gone drinking Jack Daniel’s again. Straight towards the night, we had 3-4 whiskeys all in all. Man, I still didn’t had enough sleep.

Well, we finished drinking by around six in the morning. Started closing my eyes by around seven and woke up 9:30 AM and went home. After checking some social networking sites, I went to bed and got myself ready to doze off but a mailman was knocking on the gate. Checked on it and my name was “Tamm Henry” — another great way to brutalize my identification. So yes, after 5 days, I got my prize over from the Cold War Kids themselves. Thank you~!
